So I just wanted to talk about a campaign I was recently introduced. The campaign called ‘I Can Never Be Too Much’ is for design house Georg Jensen and stars five strong females who have defied conventions and risen to the tops of their industries. A completely different approach to design brand advertising – it’s so revitalising to see a campaign video with a serious message as opposed pouts and poses.
I think this Georg Jensen campaign is particularly significant at this moment in time – with the current news such as Donald Trump’s presidential reign and the on-going fight for equal wages as well as many other problems us women face all over the world due to simply being stereotyped not as ‘able’ as men. Which is completely false obviously.
Whilst researching into this campaign I also found out some interesting facts that you guys might want to take in:
Lets RAISE these percentages of women in the workplace, reduce the percentages of rape, trafficking and abuse (altogether – it’s just as abominable for a man to go through that) and start making the world more aware that men and women are EQUAL and just as ABLE as each other. Let’s make more campaigns like Georg Jensen’s viral and show everyone these incredible women doing these ‘usually’ stereotyped ‘man-orientated’ jobs. These strong woman have showed that you can defy conventions and rise to the top of your game!
Have ya missed me? I thought I’d do a pretty casual post for you all, something you’re able to copy yourself and easily purchase from the high street. But still keeps you looking like the top dolllla, gold hermes birkin that you are and deserve to be of course.
On Friday I had the best post imaginable. Three absolutely amazing Skinny Dip bags from their new Western theme collection. We all know how much I wanna’ be a cowgirl so these bags are absolutely perfect in helping me along my way haha. I styled three different outfits based around the bags with all the info below!
Sleeveless Jacket – Beyond Retro, Choker – New Look, Gold Heels – Lynzi Shoes – Bag – Skinny Dip (obvs!)
Jacket – Asos, Belt – Beyond Retro, Crop – BooHoo, Glasses – Zara, Boots – New look Premium, Bag – SKINNY DIP
Sorry my posting has been a bit wishy washy! Everything will be on track on Thursday. Hallelujah! Theres just too much going on at the moment! ahhhhh.
So here’s a post that has been due for a loooooong time. CHOKERS. I admittedly have way too many. They just make every outfit look great right? These are a selected few from my bundle at home. I think a choker wardrobe sounds like a plan.
Anyway, every choker is still available in store. I’m so sick of saying ‘choker’……
From top left: Frilly choker – Asos, Gold choker – Pretty Little Thing, Studed choker – Zara, Diamond choker – Primark Frilly choker (white) – Asos, Western style choker – New Look. From top left: Velvet Moon Beam Choker – Regal Rose, Red leather choker – New Look, ‘B’ Choker – Topshop, Coin choker – Regal Rose, Scarf choker – New Look, Satin choker – New Look.
Which one’s your favourite? Let me know! xoTweet
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being invited to view the Arcadia AW collections. Arcadia run Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, to name a few. I was obviously particularly excited to sneak a preview of the Topshop collection and I was NOT disappointed – however, Miss Selfridge delivered an incredible collection and Dorothy Perkins particularly surprised me. The only bad news is that we have to wait for aaaaages until these incred designs hit the stores!
Alot of the pieces from Topshop’s AW collection seems to theme around ‘pretty punk’. Grungy but still feminine and a LOT of pink. I absolutely love the sheer jumper with the bra underneath and all the writing over the pieces. I have always loved painted text on clothing.
Every now and then, Topshop release a KILLER pair of leather trousers. GRAB them whilst they are there otherwise you will definitely regret it.
I am absolutely loving the Carrie Bradshaw style shirt with the bralette over the top! Also another big trend that I’m seeing is the casual hoodie underneath a structured trench coat.
Massive vintage vibes! RED LEATHER, high waisted trousers with 70’s style belts… oh my.
So the dress above and below are definitely going to be in my wardrobe as soon as I can get my hands on them. I am absolutely in LOVE.
Fur bomber jacket… NEXT LEVELS.
And finally, I’m going to end the Topshop collection with this period style dress. I have not stopped thinking about it since it first caught my eye. It is so elegant and the choker absolutely makes it.
Miss Selfridge has certainly delivered. With a clear theme of either floral or B&W chic the items are creative and drop dead gorrrrgeous. P.S. I NEED THE BEIGE SANDALS BELOW.
This coat absolutely screams 90’s/early 2000’s Miss Selfridge… I’m pretty certain they stocked this coat back then as it’s very familiar, maybe my mum had it or something… but I need it.
Love the cropped element of this leopard print fur coat!
Get in my wardrobe!!!!
These shoes are also my favourite from the day.. the shirts below I’m absolutely loving too. CHIC AF.
Dorothy Perkins has COMPLETELY upped their game. With a whole new team of designers, I predict a whole new audience purchasing their clothes including myself. These Miu Miu inspired shoes stole the show from their collection and so did their other booties. Following Fendi’s lead – DP has also done a range of handbags with collectable/different style straps.
Took my favourite new tee on a little outing to the city the other day. This T-Shirt so easy to just throw on over leggings paired with trainers but also looks like you made some effort with the hard-to-miss sequin asssss! I’m in love with it. I also spiced up this outfit with some hair studs and a choker made from recycled ribbon.
TOP – Discount Universe, SHOES – Adidas, CHOKER – DIY, HAIR STUDS – Regal Rose.
I have been waiting SO long to give you all this post! Here’s the story – my lovely friend ( and coolest person ever) AND mega successful stylist Vix Adams had her bag hand-painted with this insane, wacky, Miley design (haha). It was love at first sight and I needed my Louis bag painted ASAP. I’d been having visions of cowboy illustrations (WAY BEFORE THE JEREMY SCOTT MOSCHINO SHOW MAY I ADD) and knew that’s what I wanted on there. Anyway, Vix hooked me up with the miraculously talented Charlie Sman who painted the incredible design on to my beloved Louis Vuitton bag. AND I HAVE NO REGRETS! This is her website where you can check out her many talents and illustrations. http://charliesman.com – if you want a cool print on a leather jacket, an illustration on your trainers or a special design you want on your handbag then get in touch with her! With Charlie’s quirky ideas and incredibly talented hand – she will paint anything on anything for you! I’ve attached photos of her other work as well as my bag!
Other examples of Charlie’s work which I LOVE
Not only are Charlie’s illustrations to-die-for but her home is also SO KITSCH chic! I just had to take some snaps.
TALENT AND HOUSE DECOR GOALS MUCH?!
Here’s a treat for you all! Myself and fellow band-mate Parisa have just teamed up with Depop to sell bits and bobs from our wardrobe. My account launches today (user search – @Betsy_OTY) and you’ll be able to purchase everything from my polaroid camera to my legendary Moschino phone case. And obviously theres tonnes of clothing that has indeed been featured on this blog as well as A LOT of brand new clothes still with tags. If you haven’t heard of Depop before – it’s an APP that you download straight to your phone which allows you to buy and sell clothes, makeup, furniture and pretty much anything – as long as it’s chic! Basically the Victoria Beckham version of Ebay. We are doing a special collab with the wonderful people at Depop. I’ve shared some preview pictures of random items that are on my page however not everything will be on my page all at once so keep checking back for new items but in the mean time – happy shopping!
