Are we still allowed to say Happy New Year? Whatevr. I’m saying it.

January for me has been momentous in many ways. Hence the lack of blog. I’m also a year older so celebrations have been keeping me busy. One celebration I’m actually blogging about now. My oldest and bestest friend Holly treated me a belated birthday treat, taking me for cream tea at ‘Forest’ above Selfridges and then to the HAIR exhibition at Somerset House. IMG_0216

I was in HEAVEN. The HAIR exhibition featured a mock up Chanel runway, endless issues of Vogue and deep insight into fashion shows over the years.

…We then had a very chic and relaxing stay at the K-West hotel & spa in Shepherds Bush. The K-West used to be a recording studio once upon a time and keeps to it’s ‘funky’ roots with a sassy design and modern features. Not to mention we had the best night sleep we’ve had in a while…

1. Bathroom at K West

We were given the huge Embassy suite for our stay (bed as big as your goals) – but my favourite part was the spa. The spa at the K-West actually has a SNOW paradise. So cool (literally).  It’s the only place in the UK to cater for the ‘hot/cold therapy’ alternating between steam and ice environments.

1. Snow Paradise - K Spa

How brill is that?! Admittedly I only lasted a minute in the snow room as I’m a huge wimp but trés exhilarating for sureThe other spa features included a huge hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, and chill out cabins. Whata dream.

It’s safe to say we were kept thoroughly entertained at the K-West Hotel with a great room, an amazing spa, a lively bar and a bangin’ eggs Benedict for breakfast.

So I just wanted to talk about a campaign I was recently introduced. The campaign called ‘I Can Never Be Too Much’ is for design house Georg Jensen and stars five strong females who have defied conventions and risen to the tops of their industries. A completely different approach to design brand advertising – it’s so revitalising to see a campaign video with a serious message as opposed pouts and poses.

I think this Georg Jensen campaign is particularly significant  at this moment in time – with the current news such as Donald Trump’s presidential reign and the on-going fight for equal wages as well as many other problems us women face all over the world due to simply being stereotyped not as ‘able’ as men. Which is completely false obviously. susannebier_2

Whilst researching into this campaign I also found out some interesting facts that you guys might want to take in:

    • Women are TOTALLY underrepresented in Parliament and Government – although 2016 is the record number for women in UK government, still only 29% are women.  Pretty poor for a ‘record number’.
    • Women on average comprise about 30% of the workforce at the world’s largest tech companies, including Google, Microsoft, Twitter and Facebook.
    • Women are far more likely to be the victims of human trafficking – a HUGE 80% are girls.
    • Female soldiers face rape and harassment – between one fifth and one half of female veterans were sexually harassed while on active duty, and women are more likely to leave with PTSD from rape than from actual fighting
    • Women overall are at a greater risk of rape and domestic violence – In fact, women between the ages of 15 and 44 are at a greater risk of experiencing rape or domestic violence than cancer, car accidents, war or malaria, according to the World Bank. And as much as 70% of women worldwide experience violence during their life.

Lets RAISE these percentages of women in the workplace, reduce the percentages of rape, trafficking and abuse (altogether – it’s just as abominable for a man to go through that) and start making the world more aware that men and women are EQUAL and just as ABLE as each other. Let’s make more campaigns like Georg Jensen’s viral and show everyone these incredible women doing these ‘usually’ stereotyped ‘man-orientated’ jobs. These strong woman have showed that you can defy conventions and rise to the top of your game!

If you follow me on social media you’ll know I’ve just come back from a few days in Berlin! Berlin is a place that’s never really intrigued me – until I discovered the Bikini Hotel. tranquil19

The Bikini Hotel is in the top 100 design hotels in the world. It is jungle themed and one side of the hotel is actually complete glass so you can get a full view of the Berlin Zoo which also just happens to be in the hotel’s back garden pretty much!

    IMG_2820

The hotel is full of quirky little features including your own bicycles in your room to ride around the city in, hammocks, electronic bathtubs with an in-tub sound system and insightful books scattered around the hotel and your room in case you fancy a read with titles such as ‘How to be an Elegant Gentleman’.  Not to mention the elevator having the soundtrack of David Bowie along with electronic artwork moving around the walls. IMG_2941tranquil14tranquil8tranquil13tranquilOur room was an XL Urban Room. Which meant it was facing the city. The main feature point was the extreme, grey URBAN bathroom with the HUGE electronic bathtub gracing the middle of the room. Unfortunately we made such a mess in our room (my boyfriend doesn’t seem to grasp the concept that clothes can go in a wardrobe….not the floor haha) – I didn’t think it was best to photograph it so I photographed another room for y’all. Everything is the same as our room except our bathroom was a hell of a lot funkier haha!tranquil5tranquil3tranquil4tranquil6tranquil1One of the main features of the hotel is the infamous Monkey Bar. People come from all over and queue for a loooong time to get into the popular bar – one of the perks of being a hotel guest is that you gain instant access with your keycard. Smooth. The bar faces the Berlin Zoo and is honestly the best atmosphere I’ve ever witnessed. tranquil18IMG_2984tranquil20tranqul21This is the hotel ground floor BTW. OMG!tranquil16And little features like this didn’t go amiss… tranqul11IMG_2954tranquil9tranquil15 Our stay overall was so fun. This hotel is full of so many amenities that you don’t want to step outside! The staff was ever so tentative and nothing was ever too much to ask.
    IMG_2959tranquil10

Oh and did I mention the hotel has it’s very own shopping centre… with the CHICEST stores that stock designers such as Moschino, Comme Des Garcons, Vans and many more. tranqulil12

I also did this shoot whilst in Berlin…

    IMG_7062IMG_7080IMG_7078

We also ventured to Mitte and I found my dream store where you could make your own jewellery. The beads and accessories were to-die-for kitsch and featured every sort of charm you could ever wish for from life-like miniature cats to mini records with Michael Jacksons face on it. This is the necklace I made. I also got a bracelet but I’m piecing it together myself as I thought it would be fun… I clearly like to make life difficult.

    I should say Berlin was a success!…xo

Happy BLOG day! AND a Happy Birthday to my boyfriend who turned 21 on Sunday. To celebrate, we checked into the immaculate Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster followed by a truck load’a food and a suave dinner overlooking the thames. The best part about checking into a hotel room is that nerve wracking/exciting moment when you slot your keycard in and open the door to the COMPLETE unknown. The excitement for what your room is going to look like is overwhelming. Having checked into about 300 hotels in the past couple of years together – the novelty never seems to ware off! Luckily we opened our room door to the chicest room with the most spectacular view of THE Big Ben himself and was only a matter of minute before there was a knock at the door with a big chocolate (Matilda style) cake, macaroons and a plateful of goodies. Hospitality at it’s finest. Here is my little photo journal of our stay. No comments necessary – just simplicity and chicness.

On Friday evening Casey and I ventured to the coast for our one night holiday at No.5 The Lawn! Being so busy these days – we don’t actually have time to hop on a plane and jet off but this was just as good. If you want to book this yourself, the details are at the bottom of the post. lawn7We were pleasantly greeted by the lovely owners Jude and Mark who showed us to the incredible hideaway. I knew it would be nice but I had no idea it would be as cool as it was. There was an immediate feeling of zen and relaxation with the airy colours and bright open space. If you have me on snapchat (add me by the way! betsyblue) I was definitely showing off as I posted videos popping champagne (kindly given to us by the owners) in my robe in the incredible surroundings. Jude had even put out snacks ready for us too. Everything you need to relax and have a good time is there waiting for you!lawn1lawn2lawn3No.5 The Lawn is actually in Hastings but you could be anywhere in the world as it’s so tucked away and private.lawn17

My favourite feature was actually the pool. It was more like a giant bath as it was hot and had insane waterfall/jacuzzi features. I’m still wrinkly as I spent so much time in there. My other favourite feature was the cinema screen that magically comes out of the ceiling! The entertainment system includes thousands of movies as well and of course there’s an audio system which plays your music all through the house. Frank Ocean seemed to fit the scene for our stay as we played it through the pool.lawn15

The kitchen was cute as ever – not that we cooked in it of course. Pizza was indeed ordered! haha.lawn4lawn5You can slightly see the other hot tub on the patio outside the window!lawn10lawn9The bathroom featured a steamer in the shower!lawn12lawn11The artwork was on point…lawn13

Obviously I enjoyed my evening at No.5 The Lawn but my morning was just as good. We had the most amazing full english breakfast with fresh bread and iced coffee delivered to us at 10:30am on the dot. The night before, you choose from the extensive breakfast menu and write down the time you would like your breakfast. It was DELICIOUS.lawn16  If you want to book – contact Jude directly: 07982845407 but DON’T forget to say that Betsy-Blue recommended you!

So if you follow me on the old Instagram I’m sure you’ll know how much I LOVE the HOOK LDN sunglasses. The heavens opened and the sun beamed through when these sunglasses came into my life – which is pretty much an oxymoron seeing as they’re meant to keep the sun out of your eyes. But whatever, they’re great.

Lets hope I don’t leave any of these chic frames on the District line.

The amazing team who created this brand initially come from the music industry. They were inspired by pop culture ultimately bringing their love of music and fashion together to create these sleek/edgy frames. Perfect for ‘It’s Thursday Tho?’ !!!

The frames are sold online (click here) and in Harvey Nichols at a pretty decent price. FENDI lookin’ with a Michael Kor’s price. What more could you wish for?edit-0683edit-0598edit-0609 These white sunnies are called ‘Clique White Marble’

So, I’m going to be completely honest – this blog would be boring if I pretended everything was perfect all the time BUT I was a LITTLE disappointed at some of the outfit decisions this year at the Golden Globes. These gorgeous ladies just didn’t seem flaunt it as much as usual in my opinion – I felt like a lot of the celebs played it super safe… maybe they’re still feeling a little lazy from Christmas. However – there were some pleasant decisions that gave me dress envy! By the way – there will be NO worst dressed list – I may be stylishly honest but I DO NOT pit women against other women. ‘Worst dressed lists’ need to be abolished from every magazine and online publication.

    These are my top 3!

Coincidentally, my favourite outfits this year are ALL in the pink palette! Maybe I’m feeling some kinda girly way but I just feel like these ladies actually made a real statement and took some risks.goldenglobestop3Kate Hudson, Cate Blanchett, Kate Bosworth

Kate Hudson got it all out and played a tough game in a VERY nude Michael Kor’s number – this colour is SO hard to pull off as it has the capability of completely drowning you out – especially as a white girl. And she manages to pull it off without having a major orange spray tan. People tend to over-compensate on the tan when wearing nude numbers like this in order to stand out. Cate Blanchett blew me away in this 1920’s style, PINK PINK PINK (the best pink i’ve ever seen actually) Givenchy Haute Couture frock. This dress is absolutely beautiful, full of detail and looks like it costs a million dollars. Definitely the most couture of the Golden Globes. And Kate Bosworth was another one of my firm favourites in this Dolce&Gabanna floor length gown. It fits her like a glove and compliments her tiny frame. The structure of the dress is incredible along with the jewel finish. I would kill for this dress. She looks absolutely on point – I don’t know how anyone would’t love this dress!

    The Neutral Palette Gang!

These ladies didn’t quite make my top 3 but I still appreciated these beautiful looks. I’m a massive fan of Rosie HW and as usual, she slays in this vintage style, Atelier Versace dress. It is truly tasteful. I appreciate her neat hair and makeup choice that lets the dress do the talking. I’m not particularly familiar with Brie Larson but I think her Calvin Klein dress is stunning and extremely flattering – I do however feel like her she should have done an up-do hair wise. A slick ponytail or bun would have given her a bit of edge with such a form-fitting dress. Floor length, glittering gowns have the danger of looking ‘prom day’ without the right hair and makeup. Rooney Mara also impressed me with her fragile, detailed, Alexander Mcqueen frock. I love the vintage-rag doll look that she’s gone for. Her vampy hair and makeup compliment the dress like a treat.

Brie Larson, Rosie Huntington Whitely, Rooney Mara

    goldenglobes2

Admittedly, I have a little crush on Lily James. Even though she did beat me to the role of Cinderella – But we’ll forgive her as she seems like a really cool girl. I think this white Marchesa gown looks perfect on her – still keeping to her fairytale theme but she looks sexy at the same time with the sheerness of the gown and her smokey makeup. Good choice girl!
    goldenglobeslily

    The Red Ladies

Jennifer Lawrence, Amber Heard, Zendaya ColemangoldenglobesredThese aren’t my favourite dresses but these ladies deserve a mention! Jennifer Lawrence who i’m a huge fan off played it safe in this cut-out Dior dress. I appreciate the minimal/modern look of the dress but what brought it to life was the large chain necklace! Always trust an accessory! Amber Heard also looked stunning as usual in this pretty Gucci Couture frock. She almost looked royal! I felt like the dress was actually more of a copper colour than red – very unusual. Zendaya who always kills it for me did resemble the flamenco dancer emoji a tiny bit but she still slayed!! The colour looked beautiful against her complexion and the deep V neck added that sexy touch for her. She looked incredible.

    UNTIL NEXT YEAR!!

    1939

Happy NEW YEAR! Hope you all enjoyed my last post and you’re enjoying your new style ;).

If you’ve been catching up with my socials you’ll see that I’ve just announced that I’ve signed with NEXT models. They’ll be looking after my fashion, beauty and branding opportunities. I’m pretty humbled to be on the same talent book as Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding!

Anyway…. Obviously my first post of 2016 had to be in my new KILLER Gucci boots. I actually had a whole different outfit planned out until I found this amazing pink roll neck in my dads wardrobe. Luckily it’s long enough to be a dress on me! So my tip of the year is to go search through ya dad’s wardrobes!! Anyway, this outfit reminds me of the 60’s and the post also features my new necklace that Casey got me for Christmas. 2016!lightfog§lightfog3lightfog4lightfog5lightfog7lightfog8lightfog12

Click on the widgets to put the items or follow the links.

Toni&Guy X Matthew Williamson Glamour Washbag

beauty8This is so perfect for any fashionista who also loves to look after their hair! A collab made in heaven with two amazing brands – Toni&Guy and British MAJOR designer Matthew Williamson. I’m so in love with the design of the washbag by Matthew Williamson – and everyone gets a new washbag for Christmas right? It’s almost too nice to store your shampoos in. And lets talk about the shampoos – I’m actually using these myself and they are working wonders. They smell amazing too. The 3D volumiser that comes with this is one of my faves – a product that actually works and doesn’t leave a sticky build up. Will talk more about that product in a bit… stay tuned…

You can purchase this washbag right here… just click right here… yep

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette

    beauty2

So This is officially my most favourite product to ever be made. And that’s a statement coming from me. I own A LOT of eyeshadow palettes and this not only has all the perfect colours, pigment and longevity to stay on your eys but the shadows SMELL LIKE CHOCOLATE. This product has been on the market for a while and for some reason I detained myself from buying it until now as I thought the whole thing was just a marketing ploy and it wouldn’t actually smell like chocolate… but it truly does and even if it didn’t I would still purchase anyway as the shadows themselves are fabulous; they never fall. The packing itself is simply genius. A definite christmas must have for the makeup and chocolate lover… or even just makeup lover!

Vita Liberata TRYSTAL MINERALS Bronzerbeauty1As most girls who like to tan themselves know – Vita Liberata is up there with the luxury tanning brands. Their products are great and this one is the worlds first self-tanning bronzer. In simple terms – it’s a normal bronzer that you use to tan/contour your face after applying your foundation or moisturizer BUT the tan actully stays for 3-7 days. Pretty cool huh? It’s a great gift and you should definitely try this out.

    Christmas Berry Nail Varnish Triobeauty6

The perfect stocking filler! This limited edition Christmas set contains three mini nail varnishes in limited edition berry hues. The perfect festive colours and comes in adorable packaging. beauty5

Toni&Guy X Sophia Webster Limited Edition 3D Volumiser
beauty9This is ANOTHER AWEEESOME collab from Toni&Guy with British Shoe designer Sophia Webster (I see their Brit pattern!). Sophia Webster is one of my fave designers at the moment so this particularly excited me – especially with the gorgeous packaging designed by her. Following on from what I was talking about in my first post – this is a larger edition (and Sophia Webster edition) of the 3D volumiser which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. It is honestly my go-to product. It gives you a volumised look without the horrible sticky-texture that comes with most of the ‘volumiser/spray’ products. Purchase here

    Hydraluron Moisturiser and Nanoblur
beauty4So this is probably one of the most exciting products I’ve recieved all year. Nanoblur is a prouct said to make you look 10 years younger. It is recommended for those of the ‘selfie era’ to achieve flawless skin in pictures without the photoshop. This product doesn’t ‘remove your wrinkles’ as such but provides superficial coverage of skin imperfections – basically giving the opitcal illusion that your imperfections have been improved. When I first tried this – I tested it out on my hand and I was completely amazed. There was a clear section of my hand that was SO smooth and flawless compared to the rest. And obviously when I used it on my face there were no disappointments – It clearly works. The perfect christmas pressie for any selfie lover. And lets not forget the Hydraluron moisturiser from the same lab. It is honestly one of the best moisturisers i’ve ever used and I find it so hard to find an afforable moisturiser that genuinely replenishes your skin and takes away all dryness.

    Purchase Nanoblur here

    Purchase Hydraluron Moisture booster

    Topshop Lip Ombrebeauty13

This is SOOOO COOL. I actually love Topshop makeup – they’ve released some of my best beauty products and this is another cool idea from them. Forget ombre hair, it’s all about the ombre lip these days! You put the colours on together to create a bold look. As this lip is such a statement, minimal makeup goes perfect to achieve the fashion look. Affordable and clever. A thoughtful Christmas stocking filler!

Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette beauty10I picked this palette up in my goodie bag at the Sleek party and it is INCRED. These colours are from the ‘Midas Touch’ limited edition palette. It comes with three baked powders and one luxurious cream – filled with blue, silver, pearl and baby pink tones. Gives you the PRINCESS look for the whole body. You can use it on the eyes, face, chest, legs.  The colours are so different from any palette I’ve seen. Sleek is one of the cheapest makeup brands on the market but their products are some of the best. You NEED to buy this stunning highlighting set. Like seriously. It will give you a completely different look.

Purchase right here… click, click, click

Sleek are also doing these Christmas crackers with a surprise inside… super festive and cute!
