Are we still allowed to say Happy New Year? Whatevr. I’m saying it.

January for me has been momentous in many ways. Hence the lack of blog. I’m also a year older so celebrations have been keeping me busy. One celebration I’m actually blogging about now. My oldest and bestest friend Holly treated me a belated birthday treat, taking me for cream tea at ‘Forest’ above Selfridges and then to the HAIR exhibition at Somerset House. IMG_0216

I was in HEAVEN. The HAIR exhibition featured a mock up Chanel runway, endless issues of Vogue and deep insight into fashion shows over the years.

…We then had a very chic and relaxing stay at the K-West hotel & spa in Shepherds Bush. The K-West used to be a recording studio once upon a time and keeps to it’s ‘funky’ roots with a sassy design and modern features. Not to mention we had the best night sleep we’ve had in a while…

1. Bathroom at K West

We were given the huge Embassy suite for our stay (bed as big as your goals) – but my favourite part was the spa. The spa at the K-West actually has a SNOW paradise. So cool (literally).  It’s the only place in the UK to cater for the ‘hot/cold therapy’ alternating between steam and ice environments.

1. Snow Paradise - K Spa

How brill is that?! Admittedly I only lasted a minute in the snow room as I’m a huge wimp but trés exhilarating for sureThe other spa features included a huge hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, and chill out cabins. Whata dream.

My outfit for the evening festivities! (top – Zara, Jeans – Versus Versace)

It’s safe to say we were kept thoroughly entertained at the K-West Hotel with a great room, an amazing spa, a lively bar and a bangin’ eggs Benedict for breakfast.

If you follow me on social media you’ll know I’ve just come back from a few days in Berlin! Berlin is a place that’s never really intrigued me – until I discovered the Bikini Hotel. tranquil19

The Bikini Hotel is in the top 100 design hotels in the world. It is jungle themed and one side of the hotel is actually complete glass so you can get a full view of the Berlin Zoo which also just happens to be in the hotel’s back garden pretty much!

IMG_2820

The hotel is full of quirky little features including your own bicycles in your room to ride around the city in, hammocks, electronic bathtubs with an in-tub sound system and insightful books scattered around the hotel and your room in case you fancy a read with titles such as ‘How to be an Elegant Gentleman’.  Not to mention the elevator having the soundtrack of David Bowie along with electronic artwork moving around the walls. IMG_2941tranquil14tranquil8tranquil13tranquilOur room was an XL Urban Room. Which meant it was facing the city. The main feature point was the extreme, grey URBAN bathroom with the HUGE electronic bathtub gracing the middle of the room. Unfortunately we made such a mess in our room (my boyfriend doesn’t seem to grasp the concept that clothes can go in a wardrobe….not the floor haha) – I didn’t think it was best to photograph it so I photographed another room for y’all. Everything is the same as our room except our bathroom was a hell of a lot funkier haha!tranquil5tranquil3tranquil4tranquil6tranquil1One of the main features of the hotel is the infamous Monkey Bar. People come from all over and queue for a loooong time to get into the popular bar – one of the perks of being a hotel guest is that you gain instant access with your keycard. Smooth. The bar faces the Berlin Zoo and is honestly the best atmosphere I’ve ever witnessed. tranquil18IMG_2984tranquil20tranqul21This is the hotel ground floor BTW. OMG!tranquil16And little features like this didn’t go amiss… tranqul11IMG_2954tranquil9tranquil15 Our stay overall was so fun. This hotel is full of so many amenities that you don’t want to step outside! The staff was ever so tentative and nothing was ever too much to ask.
IMG_2959tranquil10

Oh and did I mention the hotel has it’s very own shopping centre… with the CHICEST stores that stock designers such as Moschino, Comme Des Garcons, Vans and many more. tranqulil12

I also did this shoot whilst in Berlin…

IMG_7062IMG_7080IMG_7078

We also ventured to Mitte and I found my dream store where you could make your own jewellery. The beads and accessories were to-die-for kitsch and featured every sort of charm you could ever wish for from life-like miniature cats to mini records with Michael Jacksons face on it. This is the necklace I made. I also got a bracelet but I’m piecing it together myself as I thought it would be fun… I clearly like to make life difficult.

I should say Berlin was a success!…xo

Happy BLOG day! AND a Happy Birthday to my boyfriend who turned 21 on Sunday. To celebrate, we checked into the immaculate Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster followed by a truck load’a food and a suave dinner overlooking the thames. The best part about checking into a hotel room is that nerve wracking/exciting moment when you slot your keycard in and open the door to the COMPLETE unknown. The excitement for what your room is going to look like is overwhelming. Having checked into about 300 hotels in the past couple of years together – the novelty never seems to ware off! Luckily we opened our room door to the chicest room with the most spectacular view of THE Big Ben himself and was only a matter of minute before there was a knock at the door with a big chocolate (Matilda style) cake, macaroons and a plateful of goodies. Hospitality at it’s finest. Here is my little photo journal of our stay. No comments necessary – just simplicity and chicness.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being invited to view the Arcadia AW collections.  Arcadia run Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, to name a few. I was obviously particularly excited to sneak a preview of the Topshop collection and I was NOT disappointed – however, Miss Selfridge delivered an incredible collection and Dorothy Perkins particularly surprised me. The only bad news is that we have to wait for aaaaages until these incred designs hit the stores!

TOPSHOPIMG_1784topshopIMG_1789IMG_1788Alot of the pieces from Topshop’s AW collection seems to theme around ‘pretty punk’. Grungy but still feminine and a LOT of pink. I absolutely love the sheer jumper with the bra underneath and all the writing over the pieces. I have always loved painted text on clothing.
IMG_1799topshop1Every now and then, Topshop release a KILLER pair of leather trousers. GRAB them whilst they are there otherwise you will definitely regret it.
topshop3I am absolutely loving the Carrie Bradshaw style shirt with the bralette over the top! Also another big trend that I’m seeing is the casual hoodie underneath a structured trench coat.
IMG_1808IMG_1809Massive vintage vibes! RED LEATHER, high waisted trousers with 70’s style belts… oh my.
IMG_1807IMG_1802IMG_1797So the dress above and below are definitely going to be in my wardrobe as soon as I can get my hands on them. I am absolutely in LOVE.
IMG_1810IMG_1814Fur bomber jacket… NEXT LEVELS.
IMG_1813IMG_1815And finally, I’m going to end the Topshop collection with this period style dress. I have not stopped thinking about it since it first caught my eye. It is so elegant and the choker absolutely makes it.

miss selfridgearcadia1Miss Selfridge has certainly delivered. With a clear theme of either floral or B&W chic the items are creative and drop dead gorrrrgeous. P.S. I NEED THE BEIGE SANDALS BELOW.
missselfridgemissselfridge2missselfridge1IMG_1749This coat absolutely screams 90’s/early 2000’s Miss Selfridge… I’m pretty certain they stocked this coat back then as it’s very familiar, maybe my mum had it or something… but I need it.
missselfridge5Love the cropped element of this leopard print fur coat!
IMG_1742Get in my wardrobe!!!!
arcadiamissselfridge3IMG_1772These shoes are also my favourite from the day.. the shirts below I’m absolutely loving too. CHIC AF.

dpIMG_1765Dorothy Perkins has COMPLETELY upped their game. With a whole new team of designers, I predict a whole new audience purchasing their clothes including myself. These Miu Miu inspired shoes stole the show from their collection and so did their other booties. IMG_1767IMG_1769Following Fendi’s lead – DP has also done a range of handbags with collectable/different style straps.

One fact about me – I LOVE pyjamas. I’m always on the hunt for cute pjs, especially in winter when I’m practically living in loungewear. I waste so much money on different style pyjamas, I have 3 drawers full!  So I thought I would do a post on all the pjs I’m loving from Missguided that recently released their sleepwear and the cutest loungewear brand called South Beach.

This is dressing gown is life! It’s super lightweight but SO SOFT with lace features. Definitely a more delicate addition to my fluffy dressing gown collection. edit1edit3

Berryyyyy nice….edit4This berry coloured, satin, crop PJ set is to die for. Looks V expensive and is very flattering. For the more ‘chic’ nightwear. I would even wear this out – no lie. In summer though…obvs.

Baby BLUE Laceedit11Featuring Arrow! I ADORE this PJ set. Baby blue – my favourite colour of course and it’s SO soft. The flowers are a felt material and the rest of the design is mesh so it’s a pretty couture PJ set. This is from South Beach! Click this link to purchase – here.

Seeing stars!edit9My favourite of the bunch! STARS AND SATIN. This shirt and PJ set is so amazing. Again – I would wear the shirt out. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Featuring some (much loved) ears from Johnny Loves Rosie.
